California-based Dressage trainer, clinician, and life coach, Katja Elk, provides gentle training solutions to riders and horses of all backgrounds. Illuminating horse-and-human bio-mechanics, the principles of the ‘fine art of riding,’ as well as the horse’s and the rider’s mental processes, Katja’s Conscious Dressage methodology helps horse enthusiasts to create more joyful, meaningful, healthy and productive connections with their equine partners.
Katja developed her training methodology under the guidance of renowned horse professionals such as Michael Bünger (Certifier of Professional Riders in Warendorf, Germany), Olaf Müller (Dressage Instructor, Germany), Charles De Kunffy (Dressage Instructor, Author, Hungary/USA), Monty Roberts (Natural Horsemanship, USA), Steffen Peters (Olympic Dressage competitor, USA), Arthur Kottas (Former Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria), Paul Belasik (Dressage Trainer, Author, USA), Tina Steward (Dressage Trainer, DVM, USA) and Jan Ebeling (Olympic Dressage competitor, USA). And, of course, there are all the great horses, teachers in their own right, from whom Katja continues to learn every single day.
Additionally, Katja is a Martha Beck certified master life coach and finds continuous inspiration in studying thought leaders such as Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, Peter Levine, Ph.D., Dr. Gerald Hüther, and Thich Nhat Hanh.
